Haworth artist Jean McEwan will be making noises in Bradford with her latest exhibition 'The Ghosts Exist: An audience with the Ghosts'.

The exhibition, in South Square Gallery, Thornton, Bradford, will be an exciting exploration of the relationship between art, music and film and will feature live installation, video and elements of live performance.

Jean, 36, said: "It's a very exciting new project and I am hoping to appeal to a wide audience. Anyone interested in music, art or film should come along."

Jean McEwan, who is originally from Scotland, is a multi media artist who works with moving image, sound, performance and installation. Jean has been involved in a range of collaborative projects with musicians and djs, which have included live performances and music video.

Jean, a graduate from Leeds Metropolitan University, has teamed up with the Glasgow-based band and film maker Willie Richardson to look at how music and film are related to art and to explore the similarities between the three different mediums.

She said: "We are interested in working together to explore the possibilities of cross disciplinary practice and in the relationship between moving image and music performance".

" I have always wanted to collaborate with The Ghosts, because they are an interesting band who make use a lot of visual and theatrical elements as part of their identity and performance, and they are really open to working with film makers and artists. Independent film maker Willie Richardson has worked closely with The Ghosts on several projects from sleeve art to music videos, and his work has helped form their visual style, so I also wanted to involve him in the project."

The exhibition will be a work in progress showing elements of performance, moving image and installation. Jean said: "I'll be there working in the gallery throughout the exhibition and people are welcome to come and talk to me about what is going on. It's very informal, and I believe it will be a learning process for everyone involved. The result of the work I do in the gallery space during the this period will be shown at the closing event at the end of the exhibition."
