A celebration of the season including;
Live Music, Poetry and Performance, Art work and Craft stalls, Book signings and Readings, Carol singing, Workshops and activities, Street food, Cocktails, Mulled Wine, Roast Chestnuts and more.
Compere – NICK TOCZEK – writer, poet, magician and radio broadcaster performs and delights; Andy Abbott– on finger picking acoustic guitar; RICHARD MARRIOTT & IAN TOTHILL– re united after 30 years, original and talented duo ‘older and more foolish’ than ever; AVANTI JAZZ – café jazz 1950’s style, Parisienne romance; TWO UP, TWO DOWN – DUSTY RHODES and friends with an eclectic mix of dance along, sing along tunes and favourites; Friends of SCARLET HEIGHTS – PAT SHERRY and BRIAN WYLIE along with friends, Bradford’s legendary Irish musicians create a storming and foot-tapping finale to the day!
Also readings and book-signings during the day from local author MICHAEL STEWART from his new novel Ill Will and BECKY TRUMAN of Skinning the Cat fame with her new book Aerialist together with Dublin born poet RONAN O’BEIRNE. Join us for lantern lit community Carol Singing with NORAH BOSWELL outside in the Square around 5.30ish!
Over a dozen stalls of local hand-made arts and crafts – original gifts and ideas for Christmas; Cafe and Street Food, mulled wine, cider and roast chestnuts and food hampers all by Plenty At The Square. Cocktails and Bar; Tree decorating workshop and Santa’s Grotto @ 3pm.
Came So Far For Beauty | Mandy Farrar & Allan Brack; White a Group Show | Unit 9 Gallery ‘Of The People’ exhibition by Build a Girl & Ruth Fettis; Thornton Archive will also open its doors from 11am to 3pm plus drop in and visit some of the artist studios.
