In 2018, we will reach the 200th anniversary of the birth of one of literature’s most famous siblings, Emily Brontë who was born just a few hundred yards from the South Square Centre. To raise awareness of this internationally significant part of Thornton’s heritage, we will mark Emily’s birth with exhibitions; events, creative workshops and a birthday party.

Opening Night: Friday 01 June,6-9pm South Square Centre is pleased to introduce Lynn Smith BradfordArtist-LynnSmith. Thornton-based artist Lynn is exhibiting a selection of new artworks inspired by flora and fauna at Plenty at The Square. A selection of works have been created in collaboration with Ben Holden using a Risograph process. FREE ENTRY, All Welcome.

Unlocked Collective have created a collection of artworks which reflect facets of Emily’s written works, personality and self.
